Frozen Assets Endurance Run is a winter trail race at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area in Springwater, NY. The planned distance is approximately 10k, but the exact distance may change depending on trail and weather conditions. The course is an approximately 10k loop that starts and finishes in the park parking lot and follows mostly winding single track blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race.
Snow on the course is likely. Snowshoes are not permitted. Runners should expect colder and snowier conditions than surrounding areas, consider footwear with traction, and remain courteous to Nordic skiers since some trails may be groomed. The course crosses the C4 snowmobile trail twice; snowmobiles have the right of way at crossings.
Logistics note that there is a large parking lot and a short walk down Overlook Road to Race HQ where Bear Cub Run meets the road and crosses to the Bypass trail. There are no indoor facilities in the park; one on-site bathroom is available and no additional port-a-potties will be provided. The last quarter mile into the park is unpaved and conditions can vary.
There are no aid stations on course; participants should plan their own water and fuel. A modest selection of warm apple cider, Skratch Hydration, water, and snacks will be available at the start and finish area. A post-race gathering is planned at Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye.
