Seize the Day: Amer’s Epilepsy Trail Run

Seize the Day is the 5th annual trail run held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Mendon Ponds Park. The event offers multiple course options and accepts runners, walkers, and hikers. Dogs on leash are permitted on the courses.

Available distances:

  • 10K race
  • 5K race
  • One Mile fun run or walk

The 5K and 10K courses start and end at the North Meadow Trailhead on Canfield Road, between Douglas Road and Pittsford-Mendon Center Road. The one mile route follows the Pine Woods trail across the street. Water stations are available on both the 5K and 10K courses. Race packet pickup is performed on race day; there is no pre-race packet pickup.

Parking is provided at the beach area off Douglas Road and check-in is located near Canfield Road and Douglas Road. The event proceeds support EPI and its epilepsy programs and services that assist children and adults in Upstate New York. The races take place rain or shine except when there is thunder or lightning. Sponsor opportunities and volunteer roles are part of the event structure. Mind The Ducks is a 12-hour ultramarathon on a looped course in Webster, NY. Runners aim to complete as many 1.01203-mile laps as they can. The event supports a local charity and is organized by a running club.
