Seize the Day: Epilepsy Trail Run
The 5th Annual Seize the Day Epilepsy Trail Run is a fundraising trail running event held at Mendon Ponds Park on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The event offers trail courses and a short fun run with separate age group categories and awards for young participants.
Distances offered:
- 10K trail race
- 5K trail race
- One-Mile fun run on the Pine Woods trail
All courses are on trails rather than pavement. The 5K and 10K start and finish at the North Meadow Trailhead on Canfield Road between Douglas Road and Pittsford-Mendon Center Road. The One-Mile course runs across from the main tent and follows the Pine Woods trail.
Walkers and hikers are welcome in all races and dogs on leash are permitted. Water stations are available on both the 5K and 10K courses; each station is equipped with basic first aid supplies and EMTs are stationed at the main tent. The races proceed in rain or shine except when thunder or lightning are present.
Race day packet pickup is available on site; there is no pre-race packet pickup. Parking is available on either side of the road near the trailhead. Entry fees listed for the event are $35 for the 5K and 10K and $10 for the One-Mile. Proceeds support EPI epilepsy programs serving children and adults in Upstate and Central New York.
