Event Overview
The ScoCo50 is a trail running event taking place at Scott County Park, near Long Grove, Iowa. The event offers three distances: a 50K, a 10 Miler, and a 5 Miler. It is organized by Sun Trail Running.
Course Information
The course consists of loops on the park's trail system, which includes dirt and grass paths through wooded and prairie areas. The main loop is approximately 10 miles with around 950 feet of elevation gain per loop. The 50K race completes three loops, the 10 Miler completes one full loop, and the 5 Miler runs a portion of the main course with about 450 feet of elevation gain. The terrain is described as forgiving with gentle flow and occasional short hills.
Aid Stations & Logistics
There is a start/finish aid station and one on-course aid station, which the 50K and 10 Miler distances will pass. The on-course station is located near the 5-mile mark and provides fluids and basic nutrition. Water is available for the 5 Miler at a midway point. Crew access is permitted only at the start/finish area. Pacers are allowed for the 50K distance only and may join their runner at the start/finish for the final loop.
Registration & Policies
Registration is conducted online only. There are no refunds or bib transfers. A deferral policy allows runners to roll over their registration fee to the following year's event if a request is submitted by a specified deadline. Each distance has a participant limit, and a waitlist is maintained once capacity is reached. Runners may request to switch distances if space is available.
