ScoCo50 at Scott County Park, Long Grove, IA

ScoCo50 offers trail races at Scott County Park with three distance options:

  • 50K: three laps of the 10mi-ish loop, ~950 ft gain per loop.
  • 10 Miler: one full lap of the 10mi-ish loop, ~950 ft gain.
  • 5 Miler: portions of the main course, about ~450 ft gain.

The course uses an eclectic mix of dirt and grass trails through wooded and prairie areas, with a few short stretches along the paved park road and a soft shoulder available. The 50K and 10 Miler follow a roughly 10 mile loop; the 50K repeats that loop three times. Runners should expect summer trail conditions with shaded and exposed sections that may receive direct sun.

Aid is provided at the start/finish and at an on-course station near mile five for the 50K and 10 Miler, offering fluids and basic nutrition. The 5 Miler has a water point near its midpoint. Drop bags are allowed at both aid stations. Crew access is limited to the start/finish area by Whispering Pines Shelter. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and only for the final 10 mile loop; pacers must be on foot and bikes are not allowed. Dogs are not permitted on course.

Registration is online only; there are no refunds or bib transfers. A waitlist is maintained when distances reach capacity. Deferral is possible with written confirmation and follows the event's published deadline and terms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
