ScoCo50 - Long Grove, IA
ScoCo50 is a trail race weekend organized by Sun Trail Running at Scott County Park near Long Grove, IA. The event offers three distances and uses the park trail system with wooded and prairie sections, dirt and grass surfaces, and a few short paved shoulder stretches. The 50K runs multiple loops of an approximately 10-mile circuit, while the shorter distances cover portions of that course.
The main loop used by the 50K and 10 mile race has roughly 950 feet of elevation gain per loop. The 5 mile option features about 450 feet of elevation gain. The course contains mostly single-direction trails with less than a mile of two-way trail overall. Because this is a summer trail event, open sections receive direct sun; participants should plan for heat and sun exposure.
Aid is provided at the start/finish and at an on-course station around five miles on the loop. Both stations allow drop bags; crew access is limited to the start/finish area. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and may join their runner at the start/finish for the final loop; pacers must be on foot. No bicycles or dogs are allowed on the course.
Registration is online only. Registrations are nonrefundable and bib transfers are not allowed. A deferral option offers a 100% rollover credit for the following year and is subject to the event's stated deadline. The event maintains a waitlist when distances fill and allows switching distances before the race if space is available. General race rules include Leave No Trace, no course cutting, enforcement of cutoffs, and one pacer at a time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
