ScoCo50 - Long Grove, IA

ScoCo50 stages trail races at Scott County Park with three distance options: a 50K, a 10 mile race, and a 5 mile race. The start and finish are located at the Whispering Pines Shelter inside the park.

The main course is an approximately 10 mile loop used for the 50K and 10 mile events. The loop has about 950 feet of elevation gain per circuit; the 50K completes three loops and the 10 mile completes one. The 5 mile event uses portions of the main course and has about 450 feet of elevation gain. Trails are mostly dirt and grass, passing through wooded and prairie sections, with a few short paved stretches where a wider softer shoulder is available.

Aid is provided at the start/finish and at an on-course aid station near the five mile mark for the 50K and 10 mile. The 5 mile course has water near its midway point. Drop bags are allowed at both aid stations. Crew access is limited to the start/finish area. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and may join at the start/finish for the final loop; pacers must be on foot. Bicycles are not allowed.

Registration is online only. There are no refunds or bib transfers; a deferral option provides a one year rollover credit if requested by the stated deadline. Race rules include Leave No Trace, no cutting the course, trekking poles allowed, dogs not allowed on course, enforced cutoffs, no muling, and a limit of one pacer at a time.
