ScoCo50 - Long Grove, IA

ScoCo50 is a trail event organized by Sun Trail Running at Scott County Park near Long Grove, Iowa, on August 29, 2026. Distances offered include:

• 50K three laps of the about 10 mile loop, about 950 ft gain per loop
• 10 Miler completes the full loop once
• 5 Miler runs portions of the main course, about 450 ft gain

The main loop mixes dirt and grass trails through wooded and prairie areas, with a few short paved stretches where a wide softer shoulder is available. The organizers describe the course as forgiving with occasional short hills. The race takes place in summer and includes both shaded sections and open trail exposed to direct sun.

Aid is provided at a fully stocked station at the start and at an on course station near five miles with fluids and basic nutrition. The 5 Miler does not visit the full aid station but has water at about the midway point. Drop bags are permitted at aid stations; crew access is allowed only at the start area by Whispering Pines Shelter. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and only for the final 10 mile loop; pacers must be on foot. No bikes are allowed.

Registration is online only and the event enforces a no refund no bib transfer policy. A deferral option provides a 100 percent rollover credit for the following year if requested by the stated deadline. When distances fill, a waitlist is maintained and spots are offered in waitlist order. Race rules include Leave No Trace, no course cutting, trekking poles allowed, dogs not allowed, strict cutoffs, no muling, one pacer at a time, and respectful conduct toward other trail users.
