The event is a trail run and walk held at Case Creek Valley in Coal Valley, IL (7625 120th Avenue). It includes canine-friendly 2K and 5K distances on routes that pass through pastures and woodlands around the valley.

- 5K fun run/walk (dogs allowed)
This is a noncompetitive fun run; individual times are not recorded. Participants receive event items such as a custom T-shirt, a custom race bib, and a finisher dog tag, and finish-line treats are provided. T-shirt selection is available during registration and may require registration by September 6 to guarantee specific swag. The event supports the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control Shelter.
Dogs are welcome with requirements: dogs must be leashed (no retractable leashes), leashes no longer than 6 feet, dogs must be current on vaccinations, no dogs under six months, no females in heat, and no aggressive dogs. Participants should bring waste bags and clean up after their dogs. Additional safety guidance includes keeping about 2 feet from other dogs and not petting unfamiliar dogs; children should not pet unfamiliar dogs.
The run will proceed regardless of normal weather conditions; in extreme weather it may be cancelled or postponed. Certain spectator areas will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
