SCD Community Fun Run 10k/5k

The event in Tomatin, Inverness offers two measured trail distances with an undulating profile and a single lap format. The routes use rural roads and hilly paths and are not suitable for wheelchairs.

The 5 km route starts at the hall, goes down the shop brae, over the wooden bridge, turns left and follows a track to the first water station before returning to The Strathdearn along the same track. The 10 km route follows the same initial section, continues via the green tin church to the end of the road at Balvraid Estate, completes a marked loop and then returns toward The Strathdearn for the finish. There will be two to three water stations on the course and bins are provided. Distance markers are present.

Race headquarters is The Strathdearn, Tomatin IV13 7YN. Registration opens at 10:30am on race day at The Strathdearn where race numbers are issued. Entry is limited to 100 places; 59 places were available at the time of listing. Entry fees vary by age group and local IV13 status.

Safety notes state that all runners are responsible for their own safety, must be aware of other road users and must be able to hear marshals. Headphones are not permitted in line with UK Athletics rules. Minimum age is 4 and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the open roads. Each finisher receives a medal and trophies are awarded at The Strathdearn for the fastest adult and child in each distance.
