SCD Community Fun Run 10k/5k

The SCD Community Fun Run takes place in Tomatin, Inverness, featuring paths and rural roads. The event is held in aid of MND Scotland and offers two distinct distances for participants:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The 5 km course begins at the hall, proceeds down the shop brae, and crosses a wooden bridge. Participants turn left and follow a track to a water station before returning along the same path to The Strathdearn. The 10 km route follows the same initial path past the wooden bridge but continues to the green tin church and Balvraid Estate. Runners follow a marked loop at the estate before returning via the same route to the finish line at The Strathdearn.

Both courses are described as undulating trail profiles with rural roads and hilly sections. There are approximately two to three water stations available along the routes. The event includes changing facilities and showers at the Race HQ, though no baggage store or toilets are provided.

Registration takes place at The Strathdearn, where participants receive their race numbers. The minimum age for entry is 4 years old, and all children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult as the run takes place on open roads. Every finisher receives a medal. Trophies are awarded to the fastest adult and child in both the 5 km and 10 km categories. After the event, participants are invited back to the hall for refreshments.
