Moray Way 100 Relay

Forres, United Kingdom • 27 Jun 2026

Event Overview

The Moray Way 100 Relay is a team event where participants cover approximately 100 miles as a group. The event takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with a 24-hour cutoff time.

Team and Participation

Teams consist of up to four members, though teams with fewer members are allowed. Each team member must run at least three legs of the relay. Participants must be aged 16 or over.

Course and Route

The course is a relay format divided into 12 sections. The route starts and finishes in Forres, Scotland. It follows the Moray Coastal Trail, the Speyside Way, and the Dava Way, passing through forests, coastline trails, hills, and beaches. The event includes night running.

Race Logistics

Each team is responsible for its own transportation between the 12 handover checkpoints. A tracking device serves as the team baton, passed between runners at each checkpoint. The organizing team provides fuel, water, and medical support at checkpoints. The entire team is allowed to run the final leg together from Sanquhar to Forres if they choose.

Categories and Divisions

Teams can compete in three categories: All Men, All Women, and Mixed (with two or more women). Within these categories, divisions include Open, Masters (all runners over 40), Corporate, and Military/Public Service. There is a prize for best costume.

Requirements

The route is described as mostly non-technical and runnable in road shoes. There is no requirement to be an experienced trail or ultra runner. The only pace requirement is that a team's cumulative average must allow completion within the 24-hour cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
