Moray Way 100 Relay

Forres, United Kingdom • 27 Jun 2026

Event overview

The Moray Way Relay is a team relay covering approximately 100 mile around the Moray Way route. Teams may contain up to 4 runners (teams can have fewer members and those runners cover more legs). Entry is limited to 30 teams. The event has a 24 hour cutoff and an early bird team entry fee of £150. Participants must be over 16.

Format and rules

The course is divided into 12 legs with handovers at specified checkpoints. Each team decides which runner covers each leg, provided every runner completes at least three legs. A tracker baton is issued and passed between runners to enable live tracking. Some running will occur in the dark, so headtorches may be required for some team members. The minimum individual cumulative distance is stated as 18 km across the required legs.

There are category and division options for teams, including All Men, All Women, and Mixed. Divisions listed include Open, Masters, Corporate, and Military/Public Service. Teams may choose to run the final leg together as an optional group finish.

Route and logistics

The route starts and finishes in Forres, follows the Moray Coastal Trail to Spey Bay, joins the Speyside Way to Grantown-on-Spey, and returns to Forres via the Dava Way. Full maps and GPX files for the route and for individual legs are provided. Handovers occur at designated checkpoints where water, fuel, medics, and basic support are available. Volunteers staff checkpoints and other race functions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
