Moray Way 100 Relay

Forres, United Kingdom • 27-28 Jun 2026

About the Race

The Moray Way 100 Relay is a team event where groups of up to four people run a combined distance of approximately 100 miles along the Moray Way route. The course starts and finishes in Forres, linking the Moray Coastal Trail, the Speyside Way, and the Dava Way, passing through forests, coastline trails, hills, and beaches. The race has a 24-hour cutoff time.

Team Format and Logistics

The total distance is divided into 12 sections with specific checkpoint handovers. Each team member must run a minimum of three legs, but teams can decide who runs which section. Teams are responsible for their own transport between checkpoints, typically using a team vehicle. A tracker acts as the team "baton" and is passed between runners at each handover.

Categories and Participation

There are three team categories: All Men, All Women, and Mixed (requiring two or more women). Each category has multiple divisions: Open, Masters (all runners over 40), Corporate, and Military/Public Service. Participants must be over 16 years old. Some night running is required, so headlamps are necessary.

Event Atmosphere and Details

The event aims for a festival atmosphere at checkpoints, with music and cheering encouraged. The organizing team provides fuel, water, and medical support at handover points. An optional rule allows the entire team to run the final leg together from Sanquhar to Forres. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
