Course, rules and logistics
The course runs through Savage Gulf State Natural Area and includes steep descents and climbs, stream crossings, bluff-edge running, rocky and technical trail sections, stone formations, waterfalls, and old growth forest. The race layout and the specific start area will be sent to registered runners one week before the event. Packet pickup is the morning of the event at the start location.
Marathon entrants must have previously completed a marathon or longer; the 25k is open to all. The rucking division requires dry pack weights: 20 lb for participants over 150 lb and 10 lb for those under 150 lb, with weigh-ins 30 minutes before the race start. There is a 5-hour cutoff at mile 18; runners not at that aid station within the cutoff will be located and escorted to the finish. All participants receive a participation award; top three male and female finishers receive additional rewards. Proceeds support training scholarships for Tennessee Park Rangers. COVID and social distancing protocols will apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
