Sewanee Slammer
The Sewanee Slammer is a 20-mile loop run on the Perimeter Trail around the University of the South, following the bluffs of the Cumberland Plateau. The route passes overlooks, geologic features, lakes and ponds, and upland deciduous forest, and it runs clockwise from the start/finish.
The start and finish are at the Mountain Goat Visitor Center in the Sewanee Village. Parking is available at the Visitor Center and on nearby grassy areas. Three aid stations are located along the course at miles 5.3, 10.5, and 14.06.
Event logistics and participant items include packet pickup on Friday, Oct 16 at Shenanigans - Sewanee and additional pickup on race day at the start/finish. Race shirts are cotton blend unisex lifestyle T shirts and are guaranteed for entries completed by Sept 27.
Registration closes on Thu, Oct 15 at 11:59 PM CT. Entry fees are $85 through Sept 30 and $95 after Sept 30, not including taxes and fees. Ten percent of race proceeds will be donated to the Perimeter Trail Fund.
The event includes a post-race gathering at Shenanigans - Sewanee with food and beverage options and plans to show part of the Bama versus UT game. Sponsors and vendors include HOKA, Feetures, and Huma, and swag will be awarded to winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
