Sewanee Slammer - October 17, 2026
The Sewanee Slammer is a 20 mile trail race in Sewanee, Tennessee, organized by Nashville Running Company. The course follows a loop of the Perimeter Trail through the University of the South and runs atop the bluffs of the Cumberland Plateau.
The route passes overlooks, geologic features, lakes and ponds, and upland deciduous forest. The start and finish are at the Mountain Goat Visitor Center in the Sewanee Village, and the course proceeds clockwise. Parking is available at the Visitor Center and on grassy areas behind it. There are three aid stations located at miles 5.3, 10.5, and 14.06.
Ten percent of race proceeds will be donated to the Perimeter Trail Fund. Post race activities are planned at Shenanigans - Sewanee with food and brews and a partial showing of the Bama and UT game. Race partners include HOKA, Feetures, and Huma, and event swag will be awarded to winners.
Packet pickup is scheduled for the evening before the race at Shenanigans - Sewanee and again at the start/finish on race day. Race shirts are guaranteed for entrants who register by September 27 and are offered as unisex cotton blend tees. Registration pricing changes on September 30 and registration closes October 15.
