Chattanooga Mountains Stage Race : October 16 - 18, 2026

The Chattanooga Mountains Stage Race is a three day, 60 mile trail stage event held in the mountains around Chattanooga, Tennessee. The series presents three distinct mountain courses on locally known trails and natural areas.

Distances for the three stages:

  • 22 miles Lula Lake on Lookout Mountain
  • 18 miles Point to point on the Cumberland Trail along North Chattanooga Creek
  • 20 miles Loop on Signal Mountain

The organizer states that the event is not intended for beginners and expects participants to be able to maintain roughly a 15 minute per mile pace for extended trail distances. Strict cut-off times will be enforced; the published cut-offs include 20 miles in 5.5 hours, 18 miles in 5 hours, and 22 miles in 6 hours.

Race proceeds benefit Wild Trails, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on the use, protection, and expansion of nature trails in the greater Chattanooga area. Membership in Wild Trails carries benefits for race entry, including a 10 percent discount at all membership levels and free entry to any three races for the Trail Steward level with the exception of the Upchuck 50K.

Evening gatherings during the event are held at the Crash Pad with beer provided by Oddstory Brewing Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
