The Dashing Dog Charity Run - North is organised by Saturn Running and takes place on 12 April 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The event is a trail run along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. Walkers are permitted and headphones are allowed. Entry fees are listed between £20 and £36, with a member entry price of £19 available to members.
Course and distances
The event is a 7 hour Time Challenge where participants choose their distance. The minimum recorded finisher distance is 3 km. A full lap is stated as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Distance markers include 3k and 5k turn points. Distances offered include:

Three laps equals a half marathon, six laps equals a marathon, and seven laps or more counts as an ultra.
Charity, medals and extras
A £2 surcharge on every race is donated in full to local dog rehoming charities. An optional £3 donation buys a dog-themed pin; Saturn will match each £3 donation so charities receive £6 per pin. The organiser also donates 10% of race profits when no additional donation is selected. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a dog-themed medal; distance pins are available for half-marathon distance and above.
Facilities and race services
Toilets and changing facilities are available at race HQ. Unstaffed bag drop is provided near the start/finish and is left at the participant’s responsibility. An aid and drinks table is available at the start/finish of each lap with vegan options. Participants should be considerate of other public footpath users.
