Event

The Swainby Sweep is a trail running event on 19 April 2026 organized by Moors and Dales Races. Race headquarters are at Swainby Village Hall, 30 High Street, Swainby, DL6 3EG, in the North York Moors National Park. Entrants must be 18 or older. Entries open 27 July 2025 and close 14 April 2026. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation status.

Course and services

The courses run mainly on bridleways and footpaths, with small sections on minor roads. Terrain includes moorland, forest tracks, exposed uplands and muddy sections, and parts of the Cleveland Way. The event uses marked routes, regular checkpoints, feed stations, and downloadable GPS routes. Medical provision is supplied by AED Medical Ltd. There is car parking, a goodie bag with a race medal, and trophies for male and female 1st to 3rd overall and 1st to 3rd in each age group. Each entry includes a small donation to the North York Moors National Park and Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team. Dogs are not permitted on the route.
