Swainby Sweep
Swainby Sweep comprises two circular trail races of approximately 7 and 16 miles based at Swainby Village Hall, DL6 3EG, in the North York Moors National Park. Routes take in Cod Beck and Oak Dale Reservoirs, Scarth Wood, Whorlton Moors and Black Hambleton, and include sections of the Cleveland Way.

Terrain is varied, with exposed and rugged uplands, muddy forest tracks and predominantly bridleways and footpaths, plus small sections on minor road. Courses are fully marked and marshalled, with water and feed stations, regular checkpoints, and downloadable GPS routes and route descriptions. Medical provision is provided by AED Medical Ltd. Race HQ is at Swainby Village Hall and car parking is available. A small donation to the North York Moors National Park and Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team is included in each entry fee. Trophies are awarded to male and female 1st to 3rd overall and 1st to 3rd in each age group. A goodie bag including a race medal is provided. Minimum age to enter is 18. Running with dogs is not permitted due to livestock and UKA rules. Technical T-shirts are available as an optional extra. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
