Wild Moor Running - Forest, Moor and Iron

Forest, Moor and Iron is a guided group trail run that takes place in the North York Moors. The event begins and ends in the market town of Pickering, with the central meeting point located at the Ropery Car Park. Participants follow a route that covers a variety of terrain, including wooded valleys and open moorland.

This event is organized as a guided experience rather than a traditional race. Runners move together in small groups, with a maximum capacity of six participants per group. The activity is conducted at a social pace, allowing for stops in local villages and opportunities to observe the scenery and historical features of the area.

  • 22 miles

The route utilizes ancient tracks and hidden valleys within the regional landscape. Because this is a group-led adventure, participants are provided with expert guidance throughout the duration of the run. Following the completion of the course, there is an optional gathering for participants to share food and drinks.

The event is open to individuals aged 18 or older. Registration is managed through an online entry system, and participants must register before the closing date in early May. All activities are scheduled to take place on a single day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
