A Christmas Carol Bobble Hat Run - North is scheduled for 14 December 2025 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The event is a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how far they run within the time limit. Bobble hat entries are sold out; entries from 6 November are for the run entry and include a buff. Finishers who complete at least 5 km receive a themed medal and a running buff. The advertised £22.00 entry price is available only to members; members are noted as guaranteed entry and receive a mini-me medal pin at each event they attend.

Distance pins are available for Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra achievements.
Course, facilities and services
The course follows a stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. The route is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. Walkers may take part.
There are toilets and changing facilities at race headquarters. A bag drop is provided near the start and finish but it is not staffed and items are left at the participant's risk. Parking options include nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking. An aid table and drinks table are available at the start/finish of each lap with drinks and snacks, including vegan options.
