This is a 7-hour timed trail event held in April 2026 along the River Wear near Durham. The course runs on signed public footpaths with views of the Cathedral and is described as flat. Walkers are permitted and headphones are allowed. The event has a maximum of 300 entrants and the minimum age is 12 years. Race details and logistics

  • Format: 7-hour time challenge; runners choose how many laps to complete.
  • Distances: minimum 3 km; full lap 7 km (4.37 miles) - course may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on conditions.
  • Distance notes: 3 laps = half-marathon, 6 = marathon, 7+ = ultra; 50 km option available. 3k and 5k turn points support UK Athletics age rules.
    Medals are awarded to finishers who complete at least 3 km. Distance achievement pins are issued for half-marathon and longer distances. A £2 surcharge per entry is donated to local dog rehoming charities; an optional £3 pin donation is matched by the organiser. The organiser also donates 10% of race profits to the same charities. Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available. Toilets and changing facilities are at race HQ; a bag area is provided but it is unsecured. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start/finish. Transfers and deferrals are allowed for specified fees. Parking is nearby on-street or pay-and-display. Entries close 11/04/2026.
