Course and facilities

The route starts on the beach at Watts Slope and finishes with a partial lap of the running track at Churchill Playing Fields. The course follows the beach and clifftops at Whitley Bay, coastal paths to Seaton Sluice, trails through Holywell Dene, sections of the Waggonways and ends at the running track. The course is described as trail, undulating, and a single lap. It is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Race HQ is at North Shields Poly, Churchill Playing Fields, Hartley Avenue, Whitley Bay. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing facilities and a baggage store. There are no water stations, no distance markers and no showers. Participants receive a buff instead of a medal.
