Sasamat Ice Cracker Open Water Swim and SwimRun Challenge

The Sasamat Ice Cracker takes place on May 10, 2026 at Sasamat Lake, White Pine Beach in Belcarra Regional Park, Port Moody, British Columbia. The program includes open water swims, multiple SwimRun formats and a new trail run.

Open water swim distances:

Mudskipper SwimRun events:

  • 3.5 K Try It with two swims and two runs
  • 6.5 K one lap
  • 13 K two laps
  • 13 K relay teams of two with one swimmer and one runner alternating at transitions

The Sasamat 10K Trail Run is a three-lap race around the lake.

Race notes and equipment: swim caps are provided and must be worn for identification; a race number is inked on the upper back or shoulder. Water temperatures are typically 13 to 15 degrees Celsius and wetsuits are recommended. Facilities include washrooms and food. There is no rain date; a delay or cancellation would occur only for lightning. The event lists a partnership with Childhood Cancer Canada and a wetsuit sponsor. Trail runs nearby

Trail races from Capilano University lands in Squamish offering 18 km and 35 km looped courses with substantial ascent and technical sections, plus a non-competitive kids race of about 1 km.

An unofficial trail event at Langdale Ferry Terminal on May 9 with a Brooks-sponsored Strava segment challenge through May. Prizes, a one time 15% in-store discount for segment entries, and post-run shop rewards.

Trail running at Bear Mountain Park on May 23, 2026 with 30 km, 15 km and 8 km courses featuring significant elevation gain. A 500 m kids race is included and several charities and sponsors are associated with the event.

Point to point trail races from Cleveland Park or Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve into Deep Cove, featuring technical sections, aid stations, cup free policy and a paid shuttle to return racers to start areas.
