Ferry 2 Sunny "Race"

Ferry 2 Sunny "Race" is an unofficial running event organized by Jeanelle Hazlett and Sunny Running Club at Langdale Ferry Terminal in Langdale, BC on May 9, 2026. The route includes trail sections intended to test speed, stamina and grit.

The group meets at the Langdale passenger drop off area when the first Vancouver to Sunshine Coast ferry docks; local participants do not need to take the ferry. The route will not be marked, so runners are expected to carry the route with them.

Results and a shop celebration are scheduled after the run at Sunny Running Co, with prizes and additional treats available. A month long Strava segment challenge runs from May 1 to 31 on the Ferry to Sunny route. Participants who show their Strava activity during that period are eligible for a one time 15% discount on shoes and clothing in the shop; the discount may be used only once per person.

Prizes sponsored by Brooks include awards for the fastest female and male on the segment at month end, a local legend award for most segment attempts, and a best dressed prize with a SPRING theme. The event is in person, offers free parking, and tickets are non refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
