Iron Knee/Tender Knee

Iron Knee & Tender Knee

The Iron Knee and Tender Knee are point-to-point trail races located in North Vancouver. The routes utilize local trail networks, including the notable Powerline Climb, and conclude on the shores of Deep Cove.

The event offers two specific distances:

  • Iron Knee - 25 km: This route starts at Cleveland Park.
  • Tender Knee - 12 km: This route starts at the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR).

There are five aid stations in total across the courses, with four stations designated for the 25 km distance and two for the 12 km distance. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, gels, chips, and cookies. This is a cup-less event, meaning participants must bring their own reusable containers or bottles for fluids at aid stations and the finish line.

A shuttle bus service is available for a fee to transport runners from the finish line at Deep Cove to their respective starting areas on the morning of the event. Participants must register for this service in advance. Dry bags containing warm clothes can be dropped off at the start lines for transport to the finish. All finishers receive a medal, and awards are presented to the top three finishers in each gender category for both events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
