Iron Knee/Tender Knee

Vancouver, Canada • 23 May 2026

Event overview

The Iron Knee and Tender Knee are point-to-point trail races that finish at Deep Cove. The events start from Cleveland Park or the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. Distances offered are:

  • 25 km Iron Knee
  • 12 km Tender Knee

Entry fees vary by registration period and there is no race day registration. A shuttle bus runs from the finish at Deep Cove to the respective start areas; shuttle tickets must be purchased in advance and have a separate fee.

Course and race services

The courses use North Vancouver trails and include the Powerline Climb and the Baden-Powell stairs on the descent to the finish. Course flagging takes precedence over the interactive map. There are five aid stations in total (four for the 25 km, two for the 12 km). Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, gels, chips, blocks or chews, cookies and other treats, and first aid supplies.

Dry bags can be dropped at the starts for transport to the finish. The event is cup-less; participants must bring their own container for fluids at aid stations and the finish. RunGo navigation and live tracking is available for the event.

Logistics and rules

Package pickup is available at the start locations on race day and the day before at a local running store in North Vancouver. All participants must check in on race day even if they collected their bib earlier. Parking in Deep Cove is limited; additional parking is available at Cove Cliff Elementary and parking at LSCR is limited. Volunteers are needed and roles are available. Awards are given to the top three by gender in each event and all finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
