Bear Mountain Trail Running Race (Mission, British Columbia)

The Bear Mountain Trail Running Race is organized by Heads or Trails at Bear Mountain Park on Dewdney Trunk Road in Mission. The event offers multiple distances on marked trails around Bear Mountain.

  • 8 km: technical route with about 330 m elevation gain.
  • 15 km: single lap, 741 m elevation gain, one aid station at 7.5 km.
  • 30 km: two laps of the 15 km route, about 1550 m elevation gain, three aid stations.

Routes include sustained climbs, flowing downhill sections and technical trail segments. The 30 km distance repeats the 15 km loop twice to form a longer course.

Kids race: a 500 m out-and-back course is scheduled. Children under 13 may run the 8 km with parental consent; children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the course. Organizers request that guardians pre-run the course with their child and that a U-19 waiver be completed for minor participants.

The event lists fundraising partnerships with local organizations, including Mission Search and Rescue and the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association, and features several local sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
