Event Overview

The Run for Water Trail Race takes place on Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, British Columbia. participating runners navigate rugged and technical single-track trails within the BC rainforests, featuring views of the Fraser River and the Fraser Valley. The terrain includes natural obstacles such as roots, rocks, and mud.

The event offers three distinct race distances:

  • 10 km: A trail route featuring 500 metres of elevation gain.
  • 25 km: A technical course with nearly 1,500 metres of elevation gain, reaching the two highest peaks in Sumas Mountain Regional Park.
  • 50 km: A distance consisting of the 25 km loop completed twice, totaling nearly 3,000 metres of elevation gain.

Participant Information

Race packages can be collected on the Friday afternoon prior to the event at a designated location, or at the start and finish area on the morning of the race. Participants are permitted to switch to a shorter race distance after registration if spots are available, provided they notify the organizers at least one week before race day.

Registration fees are non-refundable, and the event does not permit the transfer of bibs to other runners or deferrals to future years. The race includes a fundraising component where donations exceeding the entry fee are tax-deductible. The course routes are subject to change.
