Event details

The Run for Water Trail Race takes place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 37799 Taggart Rd on Sumas Mountain. The event offers three trail distances:

  • 10K : 500 metres elevation gain
  • 25K : nearly 1,500 metres elevation gain
  • 50K : nearly 3,000 metres elevation gain

The 50K follows the 25K route twice, with the 50K starting first in the opposite direction to the 25K. The race lists remaining spots for each distance on the event page.

Course and logistics

Trails are rugged, technical single-track with roots, rocks, mud, and significant elevation changes. The course includes views of the Fraser River and the Fraser Valley. The 25K and 50K routes reach the two highest peaks in Sumas Mountain Regional Park and use flowing single-track typical of local rain forest terrain.

Full payment is due at registration and is non-refundable. Donations or fundraising above the race entry fee are tax deductible. Participants may switch to a shorter distance after registration at no cost, subject to availability, if requested at least one week before race day; transfers to the following year or bib transfers to another racer are not offered. Early package pickup is available Friday, May 29 (location to be announced); race day packages are collected at the start/finish area.
