Event

The Run for Water Trail Races take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, on Sumas Mountain at 37799 Taggart Rd in Sumas Mountain Regional Park. The event offers multiple trail race distances and is organized by Run for Water. Full payment is due at registration and is non-refundable. Donations or fundraising above the race entry fee are tax deductible.

Distances

  • 10K: 500 m elevation gain on technical single-track trail.
  • 25K: nearly 1,500 m elevation gain, technical flowy single-track.
  • 50K: nearly 3,000 m elevation gain; the 25K route repeated in opposite direction.

Course and logistics

The trails are rugged, technical single-track with roots, rocks, mud, and significant elevation changes. The 25K and 50K routes reach the two highest peaks in Sumas Mountain Regional Park and provide views of the Fraser River and Fraser Valley. Early package pickup is available Friday, May 29, from 2:30 to 5:30 PM (location TBD). Race day packages are picked up at the start/finish area. Participants may switch to a shorter distance after registration at no cost, subject to availability, with notice one week before race day.
