Santa Teresa King Richard Annual Trail Run

This trail event takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Pueblo Day Use Area in Santa Teresa County Park, San Jose, CA. The organizer created the event to honor a family member and it runs on trails that cover much of the park, which sits in the Santa Teresa Hills above the Almaden and Santa Clara Valleys.

Distances offered:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 10 Mile
  • Half Marathon

Courses are a mix of dirt roads and single track. Surface and ascent details vary by distance, with ascents listed for each course (for example the half marathon shows about 2,552 ft of ascent and the 5K about 814 ft). Trails include steep climbs, technical and rocky sections. Routes are marked with ribbons attached to clothespins, plus signs and direction arrows.

Aid stations are provided on the longer courses; the half marathon and 10 Mile have four aid stations, the 10K has three, and the 5K has one unmanned water stop. The half marathon uses a 4 hour overall time limit with intermediate cutoffs at several mile markers. Drop bag service is not available.

Logistics notes: online registration is open through the evening before the race and race day registration is offered. Parking at the Pueblo Day Use Area requires a $6 self-registration payment by card. All runners are asked to close any cattle gates they open. Volunteers are needed for aid stations and receive a free future race entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
