Almaden Hills Trail Run - Summer
The Almaden Hills Trail Run takes place at Almaden Quicksilver Park, Mockingbird Hill Entrance (19535 Mockingbird Hill Ln, San Jose, CA). The course surface is about 60% dirt roads and 40% single track and runs through hilly terrain with repeated climbs. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 8 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 30K
- Trail Marathon
- 50K
Course ascent varies by distance, from 722 feet for the 5K up to 8,222 feet for the 50K. All races finish at the Mockingbird Parking Lot. Two fully stocked aid stations are located at the Mockingbird Parking Lot (start/finish) and the Hacienda Parking Lot; most distances pass these aid stations every three to four miles. Drop bag service is available for the 30K, Trail Marathon and 50K with collection and return at the Mockingbird Parking Lot.
Courses are marked with colored ribbons and signs. Ribbon colors and stage sequencing are used to direct participants; common colors include pink, orange, green and blue. Bib colors differ by distance category. Cutoff times apply per distance and some cutoffs are enforced at specific mile points for longer races.
Parking for the event is provided at Almaden Neighborhood Church, about 0.3 mile from the start. Toilets are available only at the start/finish area. All finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
