Skyline 50k Endurance Run, August 2, 2026
Skyline is a trail running event held at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley, California. The course is a large loop through East Bay Regional Parks that climbs up toward Skyline Gate and returns to the marina, running on park trails with significant elevation gain. The event is described as one of the oldest continuously running 50k races in the United States and has been selected as an OG Ultra by Ultrarunning Magazine. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the memory of a former race director.
Race support includes multiple staffed aid stations and community volunteer groups, and a Volunteer Safety Patrol at key intersections to help runners stay on course. Pre-race resources include athlete guides and GPX course files. A digital race briefing and optional bib pickup at Sports Basement Berkeley are scheduled in the days prior to the event, and bibs are also available on race morning. Postrace provisions include a BBQ at the marina.
Every finisher receives a race shirt, a pair of Skyline socks, and a finisher medal. Overall winners and age group leaders receive awards. The event is part of the P-USATF Grand Prix and both distances are listed as UTMB Index races. The organizer generally does not offer refunds; more than 30 days before the event entries can be deferred or transferred, while inside 30 days deferrals are not available.
