Skyline 50K Endurance Run
Skyline 50K Endurance Run is an annual trail running event held each August that starts and finishes at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley, California. The course forms a large loop through East Bay Regional Parks and reaches Skyline Gate; a half marathon option uses a looped course that also starts and finishes at the marina. The event is described as one of the oldest continuously running 50k races in the United States.
Distances:
- 50 km
- Half marathon
The race offers staffed aid stations with support from local Bay Area running groups and a Volunteer Safety Patrol that provides direction at key intersections. The finish area at Chabot Marina features plant-based BBQ and beer, and families are welcome; the event identifies itself as a plant-based race.
Pre-race information includes an online digital briefing and an optional bib pickup at a Sports Basement location in Berkeley; bib pickup by a proxy is permitted. Training runs associated with the event are free and self-supported. Runners receive a race shirt, Skyline socks, and a finisher medal, and awards are given to overall winners and three deep by age group. The event is part of the P-USATF Grand Prix and is listed as a UTMB Index event. Refund and deferral policies limit refunds and restrict deferrals within 30 days of race day.
