Skyline 50k Endurance Run

Skyline 50k Endurance Run takes place in Castro Valley, California. The event features trail races in two distances:

  • 50K
  • 21K

The course starts and finishes at Lake Chabot Marina and follows a large loop through East Bay Regional Parks to Skyline Gate. The route runs on trails and includes significant climbing and varied terrain.

The race is organized by Scena Performance. Volunteer support comes from community groups including Dusty Bottoms, Running for a Better Oakland, Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders, and the Pamakids. A Volunteer Safety Patrol assists at key intersections and aid stations.

Pre-race information includes a digital race briefing and an optional bib pickup at Sports Basement in Berkeley the day before; bibs are also available on race morning. Athlete guides and GPX files are provided for both distances.

Every finisher receives a race shirt, Skyline socks, and a finisher medal. Overall winners and age group leaders to three places receive awards. The 50K and the half marathon are part of the P-USATF Grand Prix and are UTMB Index races.

Entry fees listed range approximately from USD 115.32 to USD 179.22. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the memory of a former race director. Skyline has been selected as an OG Ultra by Ultrarunning Magazine and is described as one of the oldest continuously running 50k races in the United States.
