Berkeley Trail Adventure
The Berkeley Trail Adventure is a multi-distance trail running event held in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, CA, with courses based around Lake Anza. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 35K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
Courses run on shaded singletrack and fire roads with sections of coast live oak and eucalyptus and open, exposed stretches that can provide views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Mount Tamalpais on clear days. Aid stations are placed approximately every 5 to 7 miles and supply a range of foods and fluids such as energy gels, chews, trail mix, pretzels, cookies, soda, water, Skratch Labs hydration mix, PB&J sandwiches, fruit, and basic first aid supplies. Runners are encouraged to carry at least one 20 ounce bottle due to varying distances between stations.
This is a cupless event: runners must carry their own water bottle or reusable cup. Collapsible reusable cups will be available for purchase at the event for $5. Parking is available free of charge at Lake Anza. The event has a total capacity of 350 runners across all distances and an 8.5 hour time limit for the 50K.
Race shirts are tri-blend performance tees with UPF 30; a shirt and specific sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by August 29, 2026. Awards include custom trophies for top three overall male and female finishers per distance, finisher medals for all, pint glasses for 50K finishers, age-group medals, and special items for certain winners.
Entry fees are non-refundable. A credit equal to 50% of the original fee may be issued if cancellation occurs at least three weeks before the race; credits expire after one year. In the event the organizer cancels the race, refunds are not provided though future race credit or deferrals may be offered at the organizer's discretion.
