Event Overview
The Berkeley Trail Adventure is a trail running event in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, California. It features four race distances: a 50K, a 35K, a half marathon, and a 10K. The event has a total capacity of 350 runners across all distances.
Location & Course
The race is held in Tilden Regional Park. The trails pass through areas with coast live oak and eucalyptus trees, offering some shaded sections. Some parts of the course are open and provide views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and, on clear days, Mount Tamalpais. The event is cupless, meaning aid stations do not provide disposable cups; runners must carry their own reusable bottle or cup.
Aid Stations & Support
Aid stations are located approximately every 5 to 7 miles. They are stocked with items like Gu Energy products, trail mix, pretzels, fruit, sandwiches, soda, water, and Skratch Labs sports drink. First aid items are available. The organizers strongly encourage runners to carry at least one 20-ounce bottle.
Registration & Details
The event includes a finisher's medal for all participants. Top overall winners for each distance receive a custom trophy, and the top male and female finisher per distance get a sponsor item. Age-group medals are awarded. All 50K finishers also receive a pint glass. A race shirt is guaranteed for those who register by a specified date. Free parking is available at Lake Anza, where race-day check-in also occurs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
