The Half & Half

The Half & Half is a 10 km race that combines a trail first half with a road return. The route starts and finishes at Sowerby Bridge Pool, Station Rd, Sowerby Bridge, Halifax HX6 3AB. The first section runs on rugged, muddy trails with natural obstacles; the second section returns on tarmac. The entire course is fully marked in one direction. Entries are capped at 100 runners.

A new two-person relay option is available. In the relay the trail runner starts at Sowerby Bridge Pool and runs to the changeover at the water station outside St Bartholomew’s Church; the road runner then runs back to Sowerby Bridge Pool to finish. Teams are responsible for their own travel to and from the transition point. The event does not include a medal or T-shirt; an official Half & Half hoodie can be pre-ordered from 5 November at a listed price of £27.00, pre-order is required and orders can be placed up to 10 January. Trail runs nearby

Three circular challenge routes of 26.2, 23 and 18 miles around the Colne Valley near Marsden. Entries are by SIEntries with a 150 person limit and include checkpoints, refreshments and a finish meal.

A self-navigated trail event around Delph, Saddleworth covering about 19 miles with 3000 ft of ascent. The unmarked course visits five trig points, has three manned checkpoints, and requires full kit and a minimum age of 18.

Take on The Tour of Bradwell The Other Half, a challenging fell race in the Peak District starting and finishing at Bradwell Sports Club. Expect a long high ground route with big climbs and a lively mass start atmosphere.
