Entries open on 28 February 2025 and close on 9 December 2025. The minimum age for entry is 15 or older. Entry fees listed are £22.00 for UKA members and £24.00 for non-members.

Course and logistics

The course is described as faster and less demanding than the organiser's other trail events. It is traffic-free, well marked and marshalled, with no navigation required. Terrain includes hard packed gravel tracks, grassy paths and woodland paths, with one main summit and mainly downhill running after the top. The route is planned so runners reach the top of Rising Sun Hill around sunrise. Medical support will be available on the course.

Race HQ, registration and toilets are at the cafe building, The Rising Sun Countryside Centre, Whitley Road, Benton, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE12 9SS (grid ref NZ 30228 69575); there is no parking available at this location. Parking is available at ASDA Benton supermarket, approximately 0.5 mile from Race HQ, with access via road or park footpath. The cafe on site will be open and food and drink will be available for purchase. The event does not use disposable plastic cups and each participant will receive a bespoke memento.
