Run the Ritter takes place at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville, MN on November 14, 2026. The event offers trail race distances and a Canicross division.

The event serves as the RRCA 5 Mile State Championship and is part of the Upper Midwest Trail Runners Trail Series. All participants receive a well marked course, chip timed results, a wooden finisher medal, parking guidance, a long sleeve shirt, and a post race pancake breakfast. Merchandise is available for purchase during registration or on site.

Awards for the RRCA 5 mile Championship include top male and female in age divisions 1-40, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Overall male and female winners in each race and Canicross receive a special prize to be determined. The 10 mile race includes RRCA Championship medals for overall and age categories 40 plus, 50 plus, and 60 plus. Volunteers are requested to assist with event logistics from bib pick-up to medal distribution.

A Canicross division offers a 3 mile race for human and dog teams and for those who want to run with their dog. Canicross entries are limited to 50 registrants in the first year. Organizers require updated vaccinations, appropriate leash type and length, and responsible waste removal. Waste disposal units and water for dogs are provided on site and at the finish. A basic gear check will be performed at check in. Prohibited items include flexi leashes, head halters, and restrictive no-pull harnesses.
