Trail Loppet

Trail Loppet is an urban trail running event held in Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. The event offers timed race courses through the park and a finish area with music and a complimentary Pryes Brewing beverage for participants. Proceeds benefit the Loppet Foundation.

The Half Marathon course has five on-course fluid stations; Gu or Honey Stinger gels are available at the Quaking Bog and Bryn Mawr stations. The 10K and 5K each have two fluid stations. Portable toilets are located at all fluid stations. A bag drop service moves participant bags from the start to the finish.

Packet pickup is available at the Trailhead on the Friday and Saturday before race day. Participant shirts are distributed at packet pickup; registrants by September 1 are eligible for a special event shirt. Awards are given to the top three overall men, women, and non-binary finishers in each race. Volunteers receive race swag and one beverage.

The event meets Trail Sisters approval standards, which include equal awards and provisions such as menstrual products at aid stations. Free training plans are available for each distance through the event coaching partner. Mud Factor returns to Dayton, Minnesota on June 20th, 2026 for its 15th year. The all-ages mud run features Adult and KIDZ Family waves, festival-area spectator access, and requires a signed waiver and photo ID for adult participants.
