Trail Loppet

Trail Loppet is an urban trail running event held in Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. The event features multiple timed races on park trails and a festival atmosphere with music and a complimentary Pryes Brewing beverage offered to participants after racing. Proceeds benefit the Loppet Foundation and entry fees support event production and the foundation's mission.

The event offers youth divisions for the 10K and 5K. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before and the morning of the event, and shirts are distributed at packet pickup. Bag drop is available at the start and bags are transported to the finish.

Course support includes portable toilets at fluid stations. The Half Marathon has five fluid stations with Gu or Honey Stinger gels available at the Quaking Bog and Bryn Mawr stations; the 10K and 5K have two fluid stations.

Transportation and logistics notes include a recommended parking area at Mortenson Parking Lot, some limited Trailhead parking, shuttle service from the finish to the Trailhead and Mortenson, extra bike racks at the Trailhead, and a local bus route that stops at the Trailhead. Awards are given to the top three overall men, women, and non binary finishers in each race. Training plans and local run clubs are listed as resources for participants. A rolling five mile trail race in Spring Lake Park Reserve, Hastings on July 29, 2026, with two figure-eight loops, a midrace water stop, chip timing and post-race refreshments; field limited to 425 and entry is nonrefundable.

A series of short group trail runs and hikes presented by MN Trail Run Collective and MN Brewery Running Series. Each meetup is followed by beers at a nearby taproom, with distances of 3 miles and 2.5 miles.

A community fun run at Elm Creek Park on 8/8/2026 with an hourly 5K format that can add up to 50K. All registrations benefit the Children's Minnesota Kids Cancer Fund and a virtual option with mailed swag is available.

A backyard style bingo run around Sunfish Lake on repeated 2.85 mile loops. Runners draw bingo balls after laps finished within a 32 minute window; two card options change total distance and maximum loops.
