Baby Backyard 5K to 50K ULTRA

The Baby Backyard 5K to 50K ULTRA is a community fun-run ultramarathon that raises funds for the Children’s Minnesota Kids Cancer Fund. The event is organized by Human Race Inc and frames participation around giving: all race registrations are donated to support research and care for families facing life changing medical conditions.

The format asks participants to run a 5K each hour across a 10-hour window to reach a 50K total, with the 5K course open to runners and walkers for the full period. The event begins with a mass start, then every hour another 5K wave starts. Participants may run as many laps as they want, stop and restart as needed, or complete a single 5K and be counted as an official finisher.

A virtual option allows participants to follow the same hourly 5K structure from another location; virtual entrants will receive race day swag by mail. The event welcomes crew, pacers, family, and spectators. Kids may run, ride, walk, or hike for free. Event facilities include a primary covered area at the start and finish offering water, some snacks, swag, and community tent space; participants are encouraged to bring personal or dietary supplies they need.
