Baby Backyard 5K - 50K ULTRA, Maple Grove MN

The Baby Backyard 5K - 50K ULTRA is presented by Human Race Inc at Elm Creek Park, Bluebird Picnic Area in Maple Grove, Minnesota. All race registrations are donated to the Children's Minnesota Kids Cancer Fund.

The event uses a repeating 5K lap format. A new 5K begins each hour for a total of ten hours; completing ten laps equals a 50K finish. Participants may run, walk, or stop as often as they wish during the event window. Completing one 5K is recorded as an official finish. The event operates without hard cutoffs, so each participant chooses how far to go.

A virtual option allows participants to follow the same hourly 5K goal at a location of their choice, up to 50K. Virtual entrants receive race day swag by mail.

On-site support includes a primary cover at the start and finish with water, some ice, swag, and assorted snacks. A community tent with tables and chairs will be available. Crews, pacers, family, and fans are welcome; children may run, ride, walk, or hike for free. Pacers are expected to be on course only when their runner is currently on the course.

The format is presented as an entry point to ultramarathon running and as a fundraising activity for families facing life changing medical conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
