Heroes on the Hill : Patriotic endurance challenge for mental health

Heroes on the Hill is a patriotic endurance challenge held at Buck Hill in Burnsville, Minnesota on September 19, 2026. The event uses a scenic one mile loop on Buck Hill where participants climb the loop repeatedly; the course includes elevation gain and varied terrain. Participants may walk, hike, or run and are invited to complete as many laps as they choose.

The event raises funds for mental health advocacy and suicide prevention efforts for veterans and first responders. All proceeds benefit these programs and community support initiatives, and donations are tax deductible through the event's registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The event also maintains an Honor Wall where participants can submit the name of someone they are climbing for to recognize courage and sacrifice.

Logistics referenced by the organizers include the Buck Hill Ski Area location in Burnsville and an all day endurance format. The presentation emphasizes community impact, mental health awareness, and support for veterans and first responders without specific qualification requirements or pace standards.
