Run Happy 50K (and other happy distances)

The Run Happy 50K (and other "happy" distances) takes place on May 2, 2026 at Potato Creek State Park Nature Center in North Liberty, Indiana. The event offers multiple trail distances on park terrain and welcomes walkers and runners, as well as families who want to participate in different events at the same location.

The course is laid out as an approximately 10k loop. Distances are organized as follows:

• 50k
• Marathon
• Half Marathon
• 10k

Fifty kilometer competitors complete five loops. Half marathon entrants complete two loops plus a short out-and-back; 10k entrants complete one loop. Marathon loops and the final marathon route are to be determined; maps will be provided before the event. Course routes are clearly marked and the trails are broken in.

Logistics and rules include that pets may spectate but may not run the course with participants, and same-day sign ups are not permitted. Packet pickup is available on event day at Potato Creek; early pickup details are to be determined. Course maps for 2026 are forthcoming; a full park map is available for reference but does not include the running courses. All distances will be chip timed by Watts My Time. Fifty kilometer runners must begin their fifth and final loop by a cutoff that corresponds to approximately a 15-minute mile pace.

Volunteers can sign up without a password this year. Those registering by April 9, 2026 are eligible to receive a tee shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
