The Run Durham Hamsterley Half Marathon is a hilly, traffic-free event held in Hamsterley Forest. The course follows woodland paths and multi-terrain forest trails and offers views across the forest and the North Pennine Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The race distance is a Half-Marathon.

Race headquarters and registration are at Nest Car Park in Hamsterley Forest. Race numbers and T-shirts (if ordered) are collected at registration on the day. There is a bag drop, toilets and changing facilities at Race HQ, and parking is signposted to the Race Carpark. Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and distance markers are placed every mile. First aid cover and refreshments are available.

Entries are limited to 500 and close on 20 April 2026. Entry fees are shown as £27.00 for affiliated entries and £29.00 for unaffiliated entries. The minimum age to enter is 17. Chip timing is used; official results and finishing positions are based on gun time. Race numbers must be visible on the front of the running top for timing and result purposes.

Prizes include a finisher medal, individual vouchers for the top three male and female finishers, veteran age-group prizes in five-year bands where at least five finishers qualify, and team prizes for UKA affiliated clubs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
