Rumble on the Ridge : event overview
Rumble on the Ridge is a Last Person Standing event taking place on 5/16/2026 at a private farm in Arena, WI (5749 County Rd H). The race uses a looped course called "The Drifty Mile" that will measure 1-1.25 miles with at least 250 ft of elevation gain. The route is changed each year and detailed course information is not published until race day. The event has a maximum capacity of 75 participants and a waitlist may be used if the race sells out.
Format, rules and logistics
Participants must complete one loop every 20 minutes; runners who arrive after the 20-minute limit are eliminated. The course direction reverses every four hours. Aid may not be accepted while on the course; any aid must be carried by the runner. The winner is the last runner who has completed every lap within the time limit and must complete a solo victory lap; if no participant completes the final lap, no winner is declared. Crew tents, aid station, restrooms and spectator viewing are located at the Barnyard basecamp. There are up to 35 crew tent plots (10x10 feet) and a shared participant tent for drop bags. The aid station will offer fruit, snacks, hot food, hydration and coffee. Camping is allowed Saturday night only for tents or small camper vans; RVs and pull-behinds are not permitted. The organizer donates $0.10 per lap to the Driftless Trail project. Registration is final; refunds and deferrals are not offered, though transfers between individuals are permitted.
