Rumble on the Ridge

Rumble on the Ridge is a Last Person Standing loop race held on private farmland in Arena, Wisconsin on May 16, 2026. The course is a repeated loop called the Drifty Mile; the loop length will be between 1.0 and 1.25 miles and will include at least 250 feet of elevation gain. Runners must complete each loop within 20 minutes. The route changes annually and reverses direction every four hours.

The event continues until a single runner completes every loop within the cutoff. The winner must complete a solo final lap to earn the title and receives free entry for the next year and a unique winner award. If no runner completes the final lap, no winner is declared.

The venue is limited to 75 participants. The 2026 field has reached capacity and a waitlist is available; waitlisted runners are invited on a first come first served basis if spots open. Registration closes May 10, 2026.

Barnyard Basecamp serves as the event center with the start corral, crew tent area, aid station, restrooms, and main spectator area. There are up to 35 crew tent spaces sized 10 feet by 10 feet; shared participant tent space is provided for those without a crew tent. The aid station supplies food, hot items, snacks, hydration, soda, and coffee. Camping is allowed on Saturday night only for tents and small camper vans; RVs and pull behinds are not permitted.

Driftless Endurance and participant donations contribute $0.10 per lap toward the planning and building of the Driftless Trail led by the Driftless Area Land Conservancy.

Key rules include the 20 minute cutoff per loop, staying in the starting corral at the cowbell to begin each loop, no aid accepted while on the course, and audible warnings before each loop. Registration is final with no refunds or deferrals, though transfers between participants may be arranged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
