Rumble on the Ridge
Rumble on the Ridge is a Last Person Standing event held on a private family dairy farm near Arena, Wisconsin. Runners complete a repeating loop known as "The Drifty Mile" with the route length set between 1.0 and 1.25 miles and at least 250 feet of elevation gain. Each loop must be completed within a 20 minute cutoff. The course changes yearly and the route reverses direction every four hours.
The race continues until only one runner has completed every loop within the cutoff. A solo victory lap is required to earn the win. If no runner completes the final lap within the cutoff, no winner is declared. Field size is limited to 75 participants; a waitlist is available if the event fills.
The Barnyard serves as basecamp, containing the start corral, crew tent area, aid station, restrooms, and main spectator area. Up to 35 crew tent spaces are available as 10' x 10' patches and must be reserved during registration; a shared participant tent is provided for drop bags. The aid station offers fruit, sweet and salty snacks, carbohydrate options, hot food, hydration and nutrition products, soda, and coffee. Portable restrooms are on site. Camping is permitted on Saturday night only for tents and small camper vans; RVs and pull behinds are not allowed and there are no hookups.
Driftless Endurance will donate $0.10 for every lap completed to support the planned Driftless Trail. Registration is final with no refunds; deferral and transfer options are available with conditions and deadlines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
