S'more Fun Trail Run

The S'more Fun Trail Run takes place at Mirror Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This event utilizes the park's network of scenic trails to raise funds for the Friends of Mirror Lake State Park, a non-profit organization that supports naturalist programs, trail maintenance, and accessibility improvements within the park. The course passes through wooded areas and features views of the lake, rock outcroppings, and sandstone cliffs.

The event offers several distances to accommodate different participants:

  • 1 Mile Mini-Marshmallow Mile for kids ages 11 and under.
  • 3.1 Miles (5K) Trail Run.
  • 3.1 Miles (5K) Trail Walk follow the same route.
  • 6.2 Miles (10K) Trail Run.
  • 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon) Trail Run.

The terrain across all distances includes significant elevation changes and steep hills. While the paths for the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon are chip-timed, the Half Marathon has a specific timing cutoff of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Participants finishing after this duration will not receive a recorded time, although volunteers remain on the course.

Participants receive post-race food and beverages, including s'mores prepared around a campfire. Registration is limited to a total of 450 participants across all events, and there is no same-day registration available. Those who register by August 31 are guaranteed an event t-shirt.
