Queen of the Ridge

Queen of the Ridge is a women only Last Woman Standing event held on a private farm near Arena, Wisconsin in the Driftless Area. Runners complete repeated laps of a roughly 1.0 to 1.25 mile loop until one participant remains under the event rules.

Each lap must be completed within 20 minutes. The loop includes about 250 to 300 feet of elevation gain per circuit and combines gravel access road, single track dirt trails, and prairie paths. The course direction changes every four hours and course details may be adjusted from year to year.

The event basecamp called the Commonwealth Village contains the starting corral, participant tent, crew tent area, aid station, medical tent, restrooms, and spectator viewing. Crew tent space is limited to a maximum of 20 and is allocated on a first come first served basis during registration. The aid station provides fruit, sweet and salty snacks, carbohydrates, hot food, hydration and nutrition products, coffee, and soda. Participants must be in the starting corral at the start of each lap and may not receive aid on course or outside the corral. A solo victory lap is required to earn the title of Queen of the Ridge.

Camping on the farm is allowed Saturday night only with tent or camper van accommodations and no hookups. Parking is limited and cell service can be spotty at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
