Queen of the Ridge

Queen of the Ridge is a women's running event. It is a "last woman standing" format race, taking place on a family dairy farm in Arena, Wisconsin, located in the Driftless Area.

Event Format

The race follows a backyard ultra format. Participants run a loop of approximately 1 to 1.25 miles every 20 minutes. The loop must be completed within the time limit to continue. The last remaining participant who completes a solo victory lap wins.

The Course

The loop has a minimum of 250 feet of elevation gain. The route uses a combination of single-track and grass trails. The running direction changes every four hours.

Event Base

The event base, called The Commonwealth Village, contains the starting corral, a participant tent, space for crew tents, an aid station, and spectator viewing. The aid station provides food and drinks, including fruit, snacks, hot food, coffee, and soda.

Additional Information

Camping on the farm is allowed on Saturday night for participants, but only for tents or small camper vans. For every lap completed during the event, a donation of $0.10 will be made to support the planning of the Driftless Trail, a future 50-mile trail loop in the area.
