Run The Hawk takes place at Blackhawk Ski Club in Middleton, WI on August 22, 2026. The event offers timed endurance options where participants complete as many laps as possible on a looped course during the chosen time block, plus a shorter Fun Run. Team relays are allowed with teams of 2-4 runners; each team member must run at least one lap. Registration opens January 1, 2026. Packet pickup is available early on 8/21/2026 (4:30pm-6:00pm) at the Blackhawk Ski Club West Chalet and on race day at the Blackhawk Ski Club Biathlon Range (6:30am-7:45am).
Course, support and policies
Distances offered:
- 3, 6, 12 hour challenge on a 2.25 mile loop
- Fun Run: 1.7 mile course
The looped course mixes grass paths, dirt single track, and access paths. It includes one major climb of about 150 feet with a reported 22% grade and a notable elevation gain of roughly 345 feet per lap. The Fun Run covers similar features with a total elevation of 240 feet and one hill climb at the start. Aid station provisions include sweet and salty items, fruit, and hydration; this is a cupless event so participants must provide their own hydration vessel. A drop bag tent and restrooms are available at the start/checkpoint area, with two additional restrooms on course. Ski Patrol will provide medical support if needed. Crew tent plots are 10'x10'; teams reserve a spot automatically and solo runners must reserve a spot at registration. Pacers are not allowed and support is limited to designated crewing areas.
Refund and transfer rules: a 75% credit is offered for cancellations 60+ days before the event; registrations within 60 days are final. Transfers to another individual can be arranged but payment arrangements are the registrants' responsibility. Distance changes within an entry are allowed with no refund for dropping or payment of the difference for moving up. Awards include top overall male, female, and non-binary finishers in each time category and top overall team per category for relays. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
