The event is a timed trail running challenge held at Blackhawk Ski Club in Middleton, WI. Participants may enter individual or team relay categories in multi-hour formats, plus a shorter Fun Run. Registration opens January 1, 2026.
Course, distances and features
- 3, 6, 12 hour - 2.25 mile loop with about 345 ft of elevation gain per lap.
- Fun Run - 1.7 mile course with about 240 ft total elevation.
The main loop mixes grass paths, dirt single track and access paths. There is one major climb of about 150 feet with a 22 percent grade and several gentler climbs. Course features include 50 foot pines, a natural spring pool with a rope swing, and a route that passes under a 60 meter ski jump.
Support, logistics and policies
Packet pickup is available the day before (8/21/2026) at the Blackhawk Ski Club West Chalet and on race morning at the Biathlon Range. There is one aid station per loop offering food and hydration; the event is cupless so runners must bring their own vessel. A drop bag tent and restrooms are provided, and ski patrol will offer medical support. Crew spaces are 10'x10' plots in the checkpoint area; teams reserve a spot with registration. Pacers are not allowed on course. Awards are given to top overall male, female and non-binary finishers in each time category and to top relay teams. Refund and transfer rules are stated; a 75 percent credit is available for cancellations 60+ days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
