Round the Runway 5

The Round the Runway 5 is a multi-terrain running event held in the area surrounding Manchester Airport. The course covers a distance of 5 miles and utilizes a combination of quiet country lanes, footpaths, and trails. A notable feature of the route is that it takes participants around and under the Manchester Airport second runway, passing through the Bollin River Tunnel.

The event is organized by Wilmslow RC and operates as a charity fundraiser. For the upcoming edition, the race proceeds are designated for donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). The event is EA certified with a licence pending and is open to participants aged 18 to 89.

The start area is located off Wood Lane in Mobberley. Due to limited parking availability at the site, car sharing or the use of the local train service to Mobberley is recommended. Race numbers are provided to participants on the night of the event at the start location.
