Manchester Backyard Ultra

The Manchester Backyard Ultra takes place at Giants Seat Scout Camp in Radcliffe, Manchester on 13 June 2026. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a fixed loop each hour and continue until only one runner remains.

Each lap is 4 miles and 880 feet (about 6.7 km). Every lap must be completed in under 60 minutes; any remaining time can be used to rest before the next lap. The Manchester course is an out and back route that reaches the top of the park or trail and then returns along the same route. All routes are fully marked and staffed with signs and marshals.

Included for participants are an entry ticket, participant medal, winner trophy and medal, limited rest marquee for those without a pitch, a pitch to set up a personal rest area, parking for one car (visitors first come, first served), hot showers, hot and cold water, drinks and snacks, and photography. The organisers require a head torch, chest torch, or waist torch. High-visibility clothing is strongly recommended for night loops.

The description of the format, the course marking, and the listed facilities aim to provide clear, practical information about what to expect at the Manchester Backyard Ultra. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
