Event Overview

The Manchester Backyard Ultra is an endurance event held at Giants Seat Scout Camp in Radcliffe. Participants run a specific distance on the hour, every hour, until only one runner remains. The event follows the traditional format where runners must complete each loop within 60 minutes to stay in the competition. Any remaining time within the hour can be used for rest and recovery.

Course Details

The race takes place on an out-and-back course. Runners travel to the top of the trail and return along the same route to the start/finish area.

  • 4.167 miles (6.7056 kilometers)

The route is fully marked with directional arrows and fluorescent signs to alert other park users. There is no set finish line or maximum distance; the personal challenge continues as long as a runner can successfully start the next lap.

The event provides various amenities to support participants throughout the duration of the race. The registration includes a pitch to set up a private rest area, as well as access to a limited rest marquee for those without a dedicated pitch.
