Rombalds Stride is a 23 Miles challenge walk/run starting and finishing in Guiseley, Leeds. The trail route passes through Esholt, Baildon, Ilkley, Burley Woodhead and Menston and crosses open moorland including Rombalds Moor, Ilkley Moor and Otley Chevin. The course is trail terrain with a hilly profile and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 550 participants and the event is currently full.

Logistics and facilities

The event is organised by the 15th Airedale Scout Group with Race HQ at the 15th Airedale Scout HQ (LS20 9BT). Water stations and refreshments are provided along the route, and toilets will be available at the start/finish. There are no distance markers on course, and there are no changing facilities, showers or baggage store. The organiser asks participants to bring a cup to reduce single-use plastics at checkpoints.

Minimum age is 18, except members of the Scout or Guide association may enter from age 12; scouts and guides must provide group name and district. LDWA members should include their membership number. Entry on the day is not available. Entry fees vary by category, with options that include a T-shirt; fees in the source material range from £23.00 to £40.00. Full instructions and checkpoint map references will be emailed to entrants and a GPX file may be provided close to the event. A single-colour, A4 T-shirt design competition is planned with a closing date given in the event information; the winning design will be printed and the winner’s entry fee refunded.
