Renegade Leeds

Leeds, United Kingdom • 19 Jul 2026

Event Overview

Renegade Leeds is a fast-paced urban team event based on a live pursuit and hunt format. Starting from a city venue in Leeds, the challenge focuses on movement, teamwork, and tactical decision-making under pressure. This is not a traditional race, orienteering event, or navigation challenge, but a tactical hunt within an urban environment.

Team Structure and Roles

The event is open exclusively to teams of 2, 4, or 6 participants; solo entries are not permitted. Upon arrival at the start line, each team is split exactly in half into two distinct roles:

  • Hunters
  • Hunted

Roles are assigned on the day of the event and cannot be swapped. The Hunted group is released first with a 15 minute head start, while the Hunters are held back at the base location.

Gameplay and Objectives

The Hunted must visit three set checkpoints in a specific order before returning to the base. These checkpoints are arranged in a rough triangle, with a total straight-line distance of approximately 6 miles. The Hunters' objective is to pursue the Hunted and close the gap. To prevent camping, an "ambush rule" is in effect, meaning Hunters cannot enter defined exclusion zones around checkpoints or the base.

Capture occurs if any member of the Hunted group comes within 10 feet (3 metres) of any Hunter. No physical contact or tagging is permitted. If the distance is breached, the game ends immediately.

Tracking and Navigation

All participants are live-tracked using GPS, allowing teammates and opposing halves of the team to see each others' locations. The Hunted are provided with a map, whereas the Hunters must rely on tracking and judgment without a map. Total event time is limited to 5 hours.

Location and Access

The event HQ is located at 12 Boar Ln, Leeds. The venue is a 5 minute walk from both the nearest railway station and the bus station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
