Race Across Dorset

Race Across Dorset is an ultra trail event on Sunday 24 May 2026 that follows trails from just south of Salisbury to Kimmeridge Bay on the Jurassic Coast. Participants choose from three distances that all finish at Kimmeridge Bay. Road use is minimal on the routes because of permissions from some landowners.

The terrain includes hard tracks, sand and grass, with varied surfaces and several hills; the organiser notes that none of the hills are very steep. Aid stations are placed at key points, the route is marshalled and a mobile medical team is on call. Hot food and drinks will be available on the day. Finishers receive a medal and the top three male and female finishers in each race receive trophies. GPX files are provided for each course. There will be a large grass field for competitor parking.

Distances available:

  • 100K Race Across Dorset - 1380 m elevation
  • 50K Race Across Dorset - 680 m elevation
  • 30K Purbeck Traverse - 290 m elevation

Start locations are listed by course: Summerlands Camping SP5 4LP (100K), Charisworth Farm DT11 9AL (50K) and Bere Regis Scout HQ BH20 7LY (30K). The finish is at Kimmeridge Bay. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
