BigSea Trails (WATER)

BigSea Trails (WATER) is the second event in the Classic Element Trail Series, inspired by the element water. The event takes place on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, and starts and finishes on the sand of Knoll Beach at Studland.

Available single lap distances:

  • Half Marathon - £36
  • 18 Miles - £44
  • Marathon - £52
  • 54k Ultramarathon - £64

Routes travel across coastal and hilly terrain and include locations such as the Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapman's Pool, Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle and Old Harry Rocks. The course is marked but participants are advised to download the GPX file to a wearable device because arrows can be tampered with.

The event does not accept canicross entries. All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; hydration vests and handheld soft flasks are permitted. A bag drop tent will be available on the day. Cut off times are 5 hours for the Half Marathon and 18 Mile, and 9 hours for the Marathon and 54k.

Aid stations will be stocked with sweet and savoury snacks including vegan options, plus water and flat coke. The event is cupless. Precision Fuel & Hydration supplies PH 1000 on course and participants can collect two PFH gels at registration. Classic Element series T shirts are available to pre-order and can be collected from Event HQ. A Trees Not Tees option allows a tree to be planted instead of a finishers medal.
