BigSea Trails (WATER)

BigSea Trails (WATER) is the second event in the Classic Element Trail Series, inspired by the element water. It takes place on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, with the start and finish on the sand of Knoll Beach, Studland. The event uses single-lap routes that pass places such as the Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapmans Pool, Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle and Old Harry Rocks. Half marathon entrants must be aged 17 or over on the event date; the 18 Mile, Marathon and 54k open to entrants aged 18 or over. Canicross entries are not accepted.

Course support and mandatory kit

Runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; hydration vests or handheld soft flasks are permitted. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for changeable weather and to download the GPX route file since the course is marked but arrows can be tampered with. A bag drop tent will be available. Cut-off times are 5 hours for the Half Marathon and 18 Mile, and 9 hours for the Marathon and 54k. Aid stations will be stocked with sweet and savoury snacks including vegan options, water and flat coke; the event operates as a cupless event.
