BigSea Trails (WATER)
BigSea Trails is the second event in the Classic Element Trail Series, inspired by the element water. It takes place on 7 June 2026 on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, and starts and finishes on the sand of Knoll Beach at Studland.
Four single lap route distances are available:
- Half Marathon
- 18 Miles
- Marathon
- 54k Ultramarathon
Routes pass through The Purbeck Hills and a number of coastal and inland locations including Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapmans Pool, Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle and Old Harry Rocks. Entry fees range from £36 for the half marathon to £64 for the 54k ultramarathon. Canicross entries are not accepted.
Race logistics include bib collection at registration and a bag drop tent on the day. All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; handheld soft flasks and hydration vests are permitted. Runners are advised to carry clothing suitable for changeable conditions and to download the GPX file for their route because course markers can be tampered with. Cut off times are 5 hours for the half marathon and 18 mile routes, and 9 hours for the marathon and 54k.
Aid stations will be stocked with sweet and savoury snacks including vegan options, water and flat coke. The event is cupless and uses PH 1000 electrolyte drink on course. Classic Element series T shirts are available to pre order and can be collected at Event HQ. A tree planting option is offered instead of a finishers medal.
