BigSea Trails (WATER)
BigSea is the second event in the Classic Element Trail Series, held on Sunday 6th June 2027 on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset. The event starts and finishes on the sand of Knoll Beach at Studland and uses single lap routes that pass through the Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapmans Pool, Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle and Old Harry Rocks.
Four distances are offered:
- Half Marathon - £38
- 18 Miles - £48
- Marathon - £58
- 54k Ultramarathon - £68
Registration requires collection of race bibs; registration opens at 08:00 and closes at 08:45 on the day. Canicross entries are not accepted. All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; handheld soft flasks and hydration vests are permitted. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for changeable conditions and to download the GPX file for their route because markings can be tampered with.
A bag drop tent will be available. Cut off times are five hours for the Half Marathon and 18 Mile, and nine hours for the Marathon and 54k. Aid stations will be well stocked with sweet and savoury snacks including vegan options, plus water and flat coke; the event operates as a cupless event.
Precision Fuel & Hydration supplies PH 1000 electrolyte drink on course and two PFH gels are available at registration. Classic Element series T-shirts are pre-order only and can be collected at Event HQ. Runners may choose to have a tree planted instead of a finishers medal through the Trees Not Tees option.
