Course

The race is a single-lap, approximately 10 km trail course set within the grounds of the National Trust's Quarry Bank Mill and the surrounding village and Styal woods. The course features a mix of surfaces, including trail paths, grass, tarmac, gravel, and steps, on an undulating terrain.

Event Details

The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and follows UKA rules. It includes chip timing. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a post-race snack. Facilities include first aid, toilets, free parking, and free baggage storage.

A portion of each entry fee (£2) is donated to support Quarry Bank Mill.

Logistics

The race starts and finishes at Quarry Bank Mill in Styal (postcode SK9 4LA). There are two options for runners who cannot attend: transferring their place to another person or switching to a virtual run. Free on-site parking is available. The closest train station is Styal, approximately 0.5 miles from the race headquarters.

Participant Information

Entry is for runners aged 16 and over. The event has a participant limit of 400 due to an altered course in 2026. The race is now sold out, and no on-the-day entries or waiting list are available. Official race photos are available for free download after the event.

Results and Prizes

Results are posted online immediately after the race. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers (based on gun time) and to the first veteran in each five-year age category from V35 to V85+, as well as the first U20 runner (one prize per individual, male and female).
