The Quarry Bank Trail 10k is a 10 km trail race set within the National Trust grounds of Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, Cheshire. The 2026 event features a re-routed course due to the closure of Giants Castle Bridge.
Course Details
The race is a single-lap course of approximately 10 km that starts and finishes at Quarry Bank Mill. The route takes runners through the mill's beautiful grounds, the surrounding Styal village, and into Styal Woods. The terrain is varied, featuring undulating paths composed of trail, grass, tarmac, gravel, and steps.
Event Information
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and run under UK Athletics rules. The minimum age for entry is 16 years.
Entry fees are £28 for affiliated club runners and £30 for non-club runners. Registration opens on February 2nd, 2026. Entries close as soon as the limit is reached or at midnight the night before the race. There are no entries on the day and no official waiting list.
Prizes & Awards
Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers based on gun time, with presentations held immediately after the race. Veteran category prizes (from V35 to V85+ in 5-year increments and U20) are based on chip time and will be mailed out afterwards. Each individual can win only one prize.
Included Amenities & Travel
All finishers receive a bespoke medal. The event offers chip timing, a post-race snack, first aid, toilets, and free on-site parking at the race HQ (Quarry Bank Mill). Free baggage storage is also available.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own pre-filled water bottles to place at the finish area to reduce plastic waste. The event supports Quarry Bank Mill, with £2 from every entry donated to the charity.

Transfers & Results
If unable to attend, runners have two free transfer options: they can transfer their entry to another person or switch to a virtual run option to be completed within a month after race day to earn the finisher's medal. No refunds or transfers to other events are offered.
