Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon
The Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon takes place on Saturday 2 January 2027 in Otley. The event offers trail options of a Half Marathon and a Marathon and is based on the Green Gateways long distance walk that links parks and green spaces around North Leeds.
The route passes The Chevin for views when weather permits, and visits Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn and Danefield Woods. The Marathon route also includes The Billing and a section along the River Aire. Routes are taped and provisional GPX files and route descriptions are provided; competitors should not rely solely on tapes for navigation.

- Half Marathon: 14.0 miles, 1535 feet climb
- Marathon: 26.2 miles, 3276 feet climb
Practical information: registration and the finish are at The Bridge United Reform Church, Cattlemarket Street, Otley. Car parking is available at the Craftsman Tools car park at the end of Bremner Street, LS21 1JD. Entries open 1 July 2026 and close 6 December 2026; entry fees are shown on the event page. Maximum entrants 200 and no entries are accepted on the day. Minimum age is 18.
Safety and services: there are three checkpoints on the Marathon and one checkpoint on the Half, with drinks and food including vegan and gluten free options. Marathon entrants are supplied with a tracker; Half entrants may hire a tracker for a fee. A mandatory kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks may lead to disqualification. Every finisher receives a medal and an event T shirt unless they opt out. Dogs are permitted on the course subject to event rules but are not allowed inside the registration or finish buildings.
