Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon (Green Gateways)
This trail event on the Green Gateways route in North Leeds offers two distances: a half marathon and a marathon. The course follows parks and public green spaces around the area, with views from The Chevin, and sections through Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn and Danefield Woods. The marathon also includes The Billing and a riverside section along the River Aire.
- 14.0 miles Half marathon, climb 1,535 feet.
- 26.2 miles Marathon, climb 3,276 feet.
Entries are limited to 200 participants. Minimum age is 18. Early bird deadline is 31 August 2026 and entries close 6 December 2026. No entries are accepted on the day. All marathon entrants receive a supplied tracker; half marathon entrants may hire a tracker for a fee. Provisional GPX and route descriptions are provided and the final files are emailed to competitors with final race instructions.
The marathon uses three checkpoints; the half marathon visits a single checkpoint. Each checkpoint provides drinks and snacks, with vegan and gluten free options available on request. A kit list applies to all distances and competitors should carry mandatory safety items. Random kit checks are conducted and failure to carry required kit can result in disqualification.
Registration is at the Bridge United Reform Church, side entrance, Cattlemarket Street, Otley, LS21 1RW. Race finish is at the same location. Every finisher receives a medal and an event T shirt unless they opt out. Hot food and drinks, including vegan and gluten free options, are available at the finish.
