Trail Running at Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs

The Punk Panther Spring Headtorch Half is a weekday trail running event held at Swinsty Moor Car Park. The event takes place on a Tuesday evening and utilizes the trails surrounding the local reservoirs. Participants must be at least 16 years old to enter. The event is limited to a maximum of 150 entrants.

Runners can choose from three different distances:

  • Half Marathon: An approximate 21 km route consisting of two laps around both Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs, with an elevation gain of 800 feet.
  • 10km: A single lap encompassing both Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs, with an elevation gain of 400 feet.
  • 5km: A single lap specifically around Swinsty Reservoir, with an elevation gain of 200 feet.

The course is not marked with tape, requiring runners to follow the natural paths. Mandatory kit for all participants includes a head torch and a mobile phone. Water is provided at the registration gazebo after the first lap and at the finish line located near the car park woods. Every participant who completes their chosen distance receives a medal.

Parking is available at the Swinsty Moor pay and display car park, which accepts card payments. Results are documented for all finishers, and current course records are maintained for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
