Prairie Dairy 5K

The Prairie Dairy 5K offers an in-person timed 5k trail run or walk and a Virtual 5k option at Connorridge Farms Creamery, 2095 IWV Road SW, Oxford, Iowa. The in-person course runs on dirt and mowed grass trails that are described as hilly and rough and includes stretches through three acres of restored Iowa tallgrass prairie.

The route winds past a farm pond, a hazelnut test crop, and a native Christmas tree plot, and finishes at the dairy barn and arena where music and awards take place. The event includes a prairie identification challenge; finishers who present the provided fauna and flora checklist receive a metal, while under-5 children’s tickets may receive stickers.

Practical details provided by the organizer note limited parking that requires a hike through prairie and that no street parking is allowed. Spectators count toward the event capacity; attendees accompanying minors should be recorded as such. Dogs are not permitted except for service animals. The event will be held rain or shine.

Snacks will be provided to finishers. Cheese may be available for purchase pending county approval. Giveaways and purchases requested after July 14, 2026 are not guaranteed to be available on race day and may be available for later pick up. Registration fees listed for the events are $48.00 for the 5k and $35.00 for the Virtual 5k, with registration windows noted by the organizer.
