Hoover Prairie Run
The Hoover Prairie Run is scheduled as part of Hoover Hometown Days on August 8, 2026, at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and adjacent presidential and library grounds. The event is the sixth edition and includes a run and a walk held on site.
The 5K run follows mown, hilly grass trails through the Tall-Grass Prairie at the height of summer bloom and uses a mix of paved and grass paths on the presidential and library grounds. A separate 1.5K route circles the Presidential Library and Museum grounds, including the Presidential gravesite.

Registration fees change by deadline: registrations received by July 25 are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1.5K; after July 25 fees increase to $35 and $25 respectively. Online registration is available through August 6 and same-day registration is offered on the morning of the event. Each paid registrant by July 25 receives a t-shirt. Water stations are placed on the running route, and water plus a snack are provided at the finish area. Medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each 5K age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and up.
Parking is available at the Mercy Medical lot on Cookson Drive, the Village Green lot east of the historic site, and the Baranek Park lot. No pets please. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
