Springville Extreme Quarry Run

Springville Extreme Quarry Run/Walk - 2026

The Springville Extreme is a 6K run/walk scheduled for August 8, 2026 in Springville, Iowa. The event is organized as a chip-timed race with bibs provided; unreturned timing chips carry a $5 charge. Awards will be given to overall male and female winners and to the top three finishers in each age group.

The course description originally includes a downtown start, a descent into Wendling Quarry, travel through a tunnel blasted under Highway 151, a turnaround and an ascent back to downtown. For 2026 the quarry cannot be used due to scheduling conflicts; an alternate 6K route will be run through the town of Springville.

Registration is tiered: early and later entry fees are listed, and race day registration is available at a higher rate with or without a shirt. Registered participants may receive a technical shirt if registration is timely. Entry benefits include a bib, chip timing, entry in a door-prize drawing, and a chance to win awards. Packet pickup will be on race day from 7:00 to 8:00 in the parking lot of the Springville Presbyterian Church (165 Broadway St).

Wendling Quarries regulations note that children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult and no strollers or pets are allowed in the quarry.
