Pleasant Creek Trail Run

Pleasant Creek Trail Run will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Palo, Iowa. The event is the 12th annual running and is organized by the Eastern Iowa Trail Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports trail use and improvement.

The event includes the following distances:

• 15K
• 30K
• 45K

The course uses Pleasant Creek Park’s outer equestrian loop, a 15K circuit. All races run the loop clockwise in 2026 and return to the start/finish area to begin each subsequent lap for multi-loop distances. Trail surfaces are primarily dirt and grass and may include small water crossings. The route features rolling hills. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the course.

Awards and prizes include cash payouts for top male and female overall finishers and age-group awards for the top three male and female finishers in these groups: 29 and under, 30–45, and 46 and over. Overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards. Bonus payouts are offered for course records.

Registration is handled online with a final opportunity to pick up race packets on the Friday before the event at a designated location. There is no day-of registration. Shirts are available as an add-on with guaranteed sizing through early September; no bib transfers or refunds. Timing services and results are provided by OnlineRaceResults.

Parking is directed to the Pleasant Creek Beach grass field; volunteers will provide parking instructions and participants are asked not to park on grass in other areas.
