Woodpecker Six

Woodpecker Six is a six hour endurance run organized by LoKeyz Trail Runners at Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City, Iowa. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 and the venue address is 4732 Horseshoe Falls Rd.

The course sits inside the hilly and heavily wooded 966 acre park. The loop measures approximately 1.2 miles and features two large climbs with multiple stairs on mostly woodland trails. Each loop has about 215 feet of elevation gain. Course direction will change every two hours so participants experience the trail in both directions.

Aid at the start and finish includes hot foods and warm and cold beverages. The event provides a long sleeve race shirt and offers special awards to runners who complete 24 loops or more. Any additional funds will be donated to Pinicon Ridge Park for trail improvements.

The Woodpecker lodge offers heated indoor space for runner drop bags and outdoor space for canopies and staging. The event proceeds in rain or snow. Pets and strollers are not allowed. Registration opens on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 12:00 AM CT. The last date to guarantee a race shirt is Sunday, October 25 by midnight.
