Event overview

Woodpecker Six is a six hour endurance run held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Central City, Iowa. The event is organized by LoKeyz Trail Runners and is staged at Pinicon Ridge Park, a wooded area of approximately 966 acres. Registration closes on November 3.

Course and facilities

The course is an approximately 1.2 mile trail loop with two large climbs and multiple stairs. Each loop has about 215 feet of elevation gain. Course direction changes every two hours so runners cover the loop in both directions. Aid station foods and warm and cold beverages are provided at the start/finish area. A heated lodge is available for runner drop bags and there is outdoor space for canopies and staging. The race will proceed in rain or snow. Runners who complete 24 loops or more receive special awards. Pets and strollers are not allowed. A long sleeve race shirt is included; there is a deadline to guarantee a shirt.
