Woodpecker Six
Woodpecker Six is a six hour endurance run scheduled for November 14, 2026 in Central City, IA. The event is hosted by LoKeyz Trail Runners at Linn County Pinicon Ridge Park, a 966 acre hilly and heavily wooded area.
The course uses an approximately 1.2 mile trail loop on woodland trails. Each loop includes two large climbs with multiple stairs and about 215 feet of elevation gain per loop. Course direction changes every two hours so runners experience the loop in both directions.
Aid station offerings include generous amounts of hearty hot foods and warm and cold beverages at the start and finish area. Participants receive a long sleeve race shirt; the last date to guarantee a shirt is October 25 by midnight. The lodge provides heated indoor space for a runner drop bag and there is outdoor space available for canopies and staging. Special awards are planned for runners who complete 24 loops or more.
